Three hours ago I was almost asleep when my idiot cat woke me up.

Two hours ago I was almost asleep when I, like a fool, started thinking about my graduate school applications and how if I’m lucky enough to get into any of my top choices I’ll end up living some place like Ohio or Rhode Island…without any of my friends. Just the web, baby. Stress ++

Blargh, I have an Ars Meet to leave for in about 5 hours and I can’t sleep.

How does a previously stereotypical ‘nice guy’ become the heart of evil of the Jux Entente?

By really not giving a damn about people he doesn’t give a damn about. And elaborately constructed manipulative machinations against people he really doesn’t like. Although my patience failed on the last one. And it had to be invented on the spur of the moment. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted anyway.

Without debating which one of us is nicer overall, or more polite, or whatever, when we actually give a damn, I think I’m easily the ‘mean’ one just because of the following:

Travis will go out of his way to not offend people, even people he dislikes. He’ll have a nervous breakdown if a guy he’s firing dislikes him.

Kenny is just non-offensive period.

Everyone else involved in this site in any way has too much actual asshole and/or bitch mixed in to their social DNA to even be in the running.

Yep, still alive. I have two papers due on December 6th and a third due on December 12th. Plus I’m reapplying to graduate schools for doctoral work. Plus I’m working on my thesis prospectus. Oh, and working with my professors to set up my comprehensive exam fields. It’s a full month.

Currently on the list of schools I’m applying to:

Emory
Georgia State University
Ohio State University

Emailing people at the following institutions right now to see if they’re interested in my work and/or accepting grad students next fall:

UNC
