LINQ to SQL is awesome.

Speaking of development, I really want to finish the PHPBB 3.0 crossposting WordPress plugin that Travis and I wrote. It’s been working on this site bug-free for months. Realistically we need to add a few features before it can be released, though. We’ve already got one person out there in the wilds using it other than us, so if anyone else needs it immediately just drop us a line. Currently no one else has even done it, so we should get it out there before someone beats us to the punch. Maybe during next week’s R&D time at work.

My digital camera has been breaking and unbreaking itself over the past few days. I thought it had healed, but then it stopped working again this morning after allowing me to take several good pictures over the past few days. I’m not sure what’s going on with it, but it sucks not having it alive and dependable. In a few months I’ll be able to replace it at least. That’s what I’m working for, after all…the ability to replace things when they break.

I had an awesome idea for a Picasso comic this morning, which I will make as soon as I get some downtime.

Further stuff: I was really missing Laura yesterday, and it continued on into today. While waiting for Travis to get ready this morning I drew this on a post-it and sent it to her phone using mine (thus the terrible quality):

Love Lizards

You may not realize this because I decided to not make a big deal about it on “the day”, but Jux has been online for over six years now. That seems impossibly far ago. For some reason this website still feels, I wouldn’t say new, but ‘fresh’ to me. But the fact is Travis, Kenny, and myself have now been associated through this website as long as we were before it ever existed. That’s something amazing, really.

The first anniversary of another important day in Jux history, one also deliberately not mentioned directly, is in exactly a week.

You may not expect this given how many people I’ve angered over the years by speaking my mind through this medium, but there things I keep to myself. There’s one person mostly-out of my life that I’ve really wanted to rant about for about a month now, but I’ll keep it to myself.

One of my friends does worry me a bit though. I can’t really be happy in life without progress towards some of my goals, and not having any goals at all would be pretty horrifying. Yet that seems to be happening to one of my friends. If it doesn’t bother him, it shouldn’t bother me; I’m just concerned. I’ve long since learned to stay the hell out of such things, however.

I’m going to try to visit Laura at the end of May. I miss her.

But the kid is fine, if premature. I’m sure he’ll be at least as healthy as any other completely helpless living entity soon.

This is my third day of work at Swerdlin and Company.

How the hell did I become a professional developer?

But, yes, I would totally still do Madonna.

Shut up.

I blame the fact that my mother let me go to sleep watching MTV when I was an infant/toddler.

Ever since discovering the wikipedia article through the Ars Technica forums a few days ago Travis and I have been talking about Action Park a lot. I can’t believe I missed something so apparently legendary.

Especially this. How insane do you have to be to invent the looping water slide? And Travis and I thought we were crazy for wanting a ride than ended with a vertical plummet into a pool.
