The Necklaces
I put both the necklaces I wear into one category because they would both get the same rating anyway and I wear them both for the same reason. My first necklace is a St. Christopher medallion. For those of you that are absolutely dense about the Catholic saints, he’s the patron saint of guidance and protection. Originally, it was for seafarers, but I guess I wear him because sometimes and, I don’t know, holding the medallion in my hand just makes me feel at peace. The other is of a completely different nature. It’s the Celtic knot or Wiccan trinity depending on how you look at it. I am one of the few people I know that could get away with wearing a symbol of Catholicism and a symbol of Wicca around my neck. Especially considering I’m neither one. I think of myself as non-denominational Christian. Anyway, I wear both of them for sentimental reasons. One of them was a gift from my best friend April (the Celtic knot) and the other is worn my everyone in my family. So, they both just kinda remind me of something that makes me happy. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but since I’ve gotten both of these, I’ve never left the house with them.

The Earrings
Not much to say about any of these. They all hang from my ear and most people don’t even see them anyway because of my hair. I have five total between the two ears, two on the left ear, three on the right. There’s nothing really special about them, but I do feel weird without them.

My Spider Ring

I have worn many rings in my life, but this one has always been a constant. It was given to me by my mom and means the world to me. It’s also really cool-looking and it’s another piece of jewelry I never leave the house without.

My Cell Phone

It’s never on. It’s dumb-looking. I don’t even know the number for it. The only thing it’s good for is it does make me feel safer knowing that if I’m on the side of the road I can pull it out just to see that there is no service in the area I’m in. (Webmaster's note: Laurie's what we call an "optimist" here in flavour country.)

The Car Keys

I only have two keys on my key-ring. One for my car and the other for my house. I also only have on little key-ring decoration and that’s a flashlight that despite being small actually does give off an amazing amount of light.

The Chapstick and Lip Gloss

Yes, I use both of them and I usually use both at the same time since the chapstick makes my lips feel moist but plain and the lip gloss does nothing for moisture but it makes my lips look really shiny. I like both of them and they both taste good

The Deck of Cards

The only reason I really put them on this list is I usually have them with me. I used to have a deck of cards that were made more for magic tricks than playing. Then I had another deck that was given to me by my mom that were ridiculously small and baseball-related. Finally, I now have a deck from the Cracker Barrel of all places that are goofy-looking but reliable and easy to shuffle. Therefore, I love them dearly.

The Gum or Other Assorted Breath Mints

No matter what, I almost always have some kind of breath freshner on me. It keeps my breath cool and crisp.
