Resident Graeme
Crossed Reality talks about his Resident Evil fetish for a bit; he still manages to work Jesus into it.
I have quite a history with Resident Evil. I'm thinking about this as I finally managed to get my hands on the recent GameCube remake, three weeks after I was supposed to get it. I've always been a gamer. I would play a bit of everything, from action, to platformers, space shooters, whatever else I could get my grubby hands on. But I only had one favourite genre. Roleplaying. This is the genre that I would search out new games for periodically, almost always Square Soft, but there were exceptions. Every few weeks/months, I would get this twinge and I would go on the hunt, looking for a new game to satisfy the urge. Resident Evil broke into this system, and added a new genre. Now I salivate over roleplaying and Survival Horror, and it's all thanks to this game. There's one other thing you need to know about my favourite genres: I'm good at them. Damned good at them. So, this feature is a tribute to my history with these games, with a few statistics. I'll probably do one for Final Fantasy eventually, but that would read a lot more like my life story than anything else, so maybe I should refrain.

Resident Evil
To be honest, this is the one I've played the least. After I beat it with both characters, and got the secrets, well, that was kind of it for me. I loved the game, but there just wasn't enough motivation for me. It just wasn't polished enough to cause me to go through it rabidly.
Graeme's Greatest Accomplishment: Getting all the secrets, not laughing at the master of unlocking line.
Game's Weakest Moment: God, did those live actors suck.

Resident Evil 2
My, there are some funny stories with this one. After this game, the Resident Evil control scheme would be locked into my system, allowing me to make characters that seem stilted and tank-like in the hands of others to dance at my command. But, like I said, I hadn't played the original as much as I would the others. So, I promptly died. My fortunes went up from there, though. As for the game itself, hell, just the fact that it introduces the best playable character in the RE universe in Claire Redfield should be enough to get it top accolades. It also introduces the most neglected. Poor Leon. You want another funny story? Months after I had beaten this thing to death, a friend was over, and I was really tired. He decided to play this, and I decided to take a nap. A few minutes later, he nudges me, saying that the first licker keeps killing him, and he's out of shotgun shells. So, groggily, I grab the controller, kill the thing with the hand gun without taking a hit, and roll back over. I'm allowed a few more minutes of peace, then he wakes me up again. This time the zombie of the first police officer you meet keeps killing him, because he only has two handgun bullets. I grab the controller again, kill it with the knife quickly, and go back to sleep. As I drift off, I hear him mutter "God I hate you."
Graeme's Greatest Accomplishment: Beating the entire game using only the handgun and knife, except where required to use another weapon.
Game's Weakest Moment: Tofu. And that damned April Fool's joke about Akuma that everyone in the world still believes for some reason.

Resident Evil 3
I love this game. Some people seem to dislike it, I don't know why. I've played through this one more times than any of the others. Sure, that's because it is slightly shorter, but quality over quantity people. Plus, it was a definite improvement over RE2 in control systems and graphics. "You want S.T.A.R.S.? I'll give you S.T.A.R.S.!"
Graeme's Greatest Accomplishment: I have nothing left to buy. Oh yeah, and I've beaten the thing over 20 times.
Game's Weakest Moment: The magical changing police department.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Yowza. Tell me your first taste of that opening movie wasn't golden delicious. Then your first glimpse of Resident Evil running real time on a next generation console (Yes, a Dreamcast is still a next generation console). The story for this was the best. The characters are among the most...unique. Claire rules. Steve was annoying, but he *spoiler* turns into a giant monster and tries to kill you, requiring you to hurt him badly, so it works out. Plus, Alexia vs. Wesker was just badass. I don't think two virii enhanced beings had fought each other before then.
Graeme's Greatest Accomplishment: Devouring the battle mode. Oh, and I beat almost the entire game using just the knife. Including the hunters. Have you ever killed a hunter with a knife? It's like meeting Jesus!
Game's Weakest Moment: Claire can do a lot better than Steve. And who falls asleep on a plane that doesn't have a pilot? I'd want to at least watch the damned thing.

Resident Evil GameCube
Playing. Leave alone now. *Bites head*
